At CalBike, we work not just to improve what policy makers decide about transportation, but to improve who those very policymakers are. That’s why we are endorsing candidates for the March 3, 2020 elections. We’re starting with an important race for the Los Angeles City Council District 4.
We are proud to endorse both Sarah Kate Levy and Nithya Raman for Los Angeles City Council District 4. Our partners at Bike the Vote LA did a lot of the groundwork in analyzing the candidates and highlighting the significance of this race given the lackluster biking priorities of the incumbent. For example, the incumbent has demonstrated a conflicting record on Complete Streets in the district.
In their responses to Bike the Vote LA’s questionnaire, both Levy’s answers and Raman’s answers showed a deep commitment to bicycling. We are endorsing either candidate against the incumbent. If no candidate gets more than 50% of the vote, the top two vote getters face each other in the general election November 3, 2020.
As a resident of Los Angeles, this election is important to you even if you don’t live in District 4. Please support one of our endorsed candidates. Here are some suggestions for how you can make a difference on the LA City Council.
Attend an event for NIthya Raman.
