E-Bike Purchase Incentives

It’s time to make CalBike’s $10 million Bicycle Purchase Incentive Pilot Program. A bill to implement this important program is moving through the California Legislature and could become law in 2022. Tell your assembly member to vote YES on AB 117, the E-Bike Affordability Bill, to put e-bikes within reach of more Californians.

It’s time to decriminalize jaywalking

Tell your representatives to vote YES on the Freedom to Walk Act. CalBike is sponsoring AB 1238 (Ting) to repeal California’s unjust jaywalking laws. The bill will make safe mid-block crossings legal, as well as crossing against traffic lights. Jaywalking tickets place an unfair burden on low-income residents, whose neighborhoods often lack adequate infrastructure, and are disproportionately used to harass Black Californians.

Support the Bicycle Safety Stop

The Idaho stop was the first, but many other states have since legalized the safety stop, which allows bikes to treat stop signs as yields. We need your support to convince California lawmakers to join Oregon, Washington, and many other states in passing this commonsense law.

It’s about safety. It’s about time. Add your name to support the Bicycle Safety Stop.

Volunteer with CalBike

The movement for safe streets and healthy communities in California needs you! We regularly need volunteers in the Bay Area or in Sacramento. In addition, we often have positions for volunteers working remotely. As a volunteer, you can gain valuable experience, connect with interesting people, and have fun!

Ride. Raise Money for CalBike. Repeat.

The California Dream Ride is an annual, fully-supported ride that raises money for CalBike. Stayed tuned for updates on the 2020 California Dream Ride!
