Who We Are

WHO WE ARE

The California Bicycle Coalition (CalBike) is an alliance of people and organizations who share the goal of enabling more people to ride bicycles in California. Our staff, board, and partners are passionate about making California not just a better place to ride a bike, but a healthier, more prosperous, and more equitable place.

CalBike works with local organizations across California to support their success and to represent their voices in Sacramento. Together, our power is impressive: more than 30,000 dues-paying members and 50 professional advocates working for bicycling.

CalBike serves as fiscal sponsor to two local organizations: Shasta Living Streets and the Motherlode Bicycle Coalition.

At the state level, we collaborate with partners in affordable housing, transit, pedestrian advocacy, and economic justice. By presenting a unified voice among organizations representing varied interests, we amplify our effectiveness and advance the cause of transportation justice.

Nationally, CalBike coordinates with other statewide and national groups to promote a national agenda of support for more bicycling.

BLACK LIVES MATTER

California will never have the equitable, prosperous and inclusive communities that CalBike advocates for until we address and redress anti-Black violence. We want to actively contribute to ending systemic racism, especially in transportation policy, and most especially in bicycling advocacy. We promise to listen and learn how we can best do this work. To our community members who experience the violence of racism on a daily basis: we see you, we hear you, and we stand with you.
