Tell Caltrans You Want Complete Streets!

On October 12, 2019, Governor Newsom vetoed the Complete Streets for Active Living Bill, SB 127. The bill would have required Caltrans to build Complete Streets when it repairs or repaves local streets.
We haven’t given up. We will push Caltrans to comply with its own policies to add Complete Streets to the neighborhood streets it controls. Add your name help build the movement for Complete Streets.

I believe California’s streets should be safe for all users: people biking, walking, and using transit—not just those driving cars and trucks. I support streets built to share.

  • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

Background

Despite Governor Newsom’s veto of the Complete Streets Bill, SB 127, we continue to fight to get Caltrans to implement these commonsense safety measures:

  • Requiring safety improvements for bike riders and walkers with every repaving project on state-owned roads that also serve as local streets
  • Elevating safety considerations for bicyclists and pedestrians in setting the priority of repaving and rehabilitation projects
  • Involving community organizations and local governments when a project is planned
If you agree that these are commonsense provisions, please help us stand up to Caltrans. Please sign our petition.

And one last thing: please share this petition with your friends on social media using the buttons below.
