Join the movement for better biking in California

Most drivers open their driver-side doors without checking for oncoming bicyclists. This can lead to dooring, where a rider collides with a car door that is carelessly flung in their path. Dooring can seriously injure or even kill people on bikes. The Dutch have a solution: the Dutch Reach.
Dutch drivers are trained to open their doors with the right hand. The Dutch Reach forces the driver to twist their body to the left, making it more likely that they will see a bicyclist coming.
CalBike is sponsoring a bill, SB 945, which would add the Dutch Reach to driver training in California. Sign to tell legislators you support this important legislation.
