The Walk & Bike Youth Leaders Program is an initiative of the California Center for Civic Participation, California Walks, and CalBike that brings together a diverse group of youth (16-23 years old) to Sacramento to learn how to advocate for state policies that promote safer streets and better public transportation. The youth in the Walk and Bike Youth Leaders Program expand their knowledge of advocacy strategies and complete a PhotoVoice project documenting their neighborhood’s current biking and walking conditions, which the 2017 cohort presented at the California Bicycle Summit in Sacramento in October 2017.
