Sacramento CA October 8, 2015 – The California Bicycle Coalition will honor Long Beach-based journalist and communications expert Brian Addison with the inaugural “Bicycle Dreamer” award on Monday November 2, 2015. The event will be held at MADE Long Beach, 236 Pine Ave., in Downtown Long Beach from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The event is free but RSVP’s are required: Delicious food options are available from Lola’s Mexican Cuisine and should be reserved online in advance to ensure availability. The evening will also include a craft beer bar sponsored by Sierra Nevada, a DJ, a silent auction and a short program featuring California Bicycle Coalition’s Executive Director, Dave Snyder; Damien Newton, Publisher of Streetsblog LA & California; and honoree Brian Addison.

With the Bicycle Dreamer Award, the California Bicycle Coalition honors extraordinary achievement in advancing our dream: that one day soon all Californians will be able to ride bicycles safely and conveniently wherever they wish to go, and that, as a result, all our communities will thrive. The award will be given during the annual “California Dream Ride” fundraising tour – the only fundraising ride raising awareness and funds to improve bicycling for all Californians. This year the ride is Oct. 30 thru Nov. 4th and goes from Santa Barbara to San Diego, via Long Beach.
