CalBike releases legislative scorecards
The California Bicycle Coalition released the results of its analysis of the voting records of every California state Assemblymember and Senator. The analysis considered their votes on issues important to the agenda of the state’s bicycle advocates, for example, SB 350 that set intermediate goals for greenhouse gas reductions and AB 40 that permitted ticketed cyclists to have their fee reduced or waived if they take a bicycle safety education class. Among the 40 Senators, 19 finished with a perfect record of 100. The lowest score was 36. Among the 80 Assemblymembers, 23 finished with a perfect record of 100. The lowest score was 38.
