$200 Million for bikes in San Diego
On October 28, 2011 San Diego’s Regional Metropolitan Planning Agency, SANDAG, agreed to work on an early action program which included implemented bicycle infrastructure projects within the next decade. Last Friday, on September 27, 2013, the SANDAG board unanimously voted to approve $200 million in funding to implement bicycle infrastructure projects within the next seven years. This vote is an unprecedented and historical vote in the region and demonstrates incredible leadership on the part of SANDAG’s board.
